The piece touched on a new trend: real estate developers transitioning areas traditionally anchored with more established brick-and-mortar brands to now be peppered with e-tailers such as Bonobos, Nordstrom’s Trunk Club and the latest to join this Madison Avenue block, Untuckit, in order to attract a more youthful set of shoppers.
“Some e-tailers like Bonobos are setting up physical stores without carrying inventory, noted Sarah Engel, CMO of DynamicAction, a retail analytics firm. ‘Shoppers still want to touch, feel and experience the product, and the retailers avoid the large overhead costs of keeping inventory,’ she said. But Untuckit is going for the full monty.”
